Abstract		We report our experience with intraoperative monitoring of somatosensory evoked potentials (SSEPs) in 76 cases of spinal surgery. The usefulness of this technique in patients suffering from lesions of the somatosensory pathways with preoperatively poor potentials was evaluated. Our results encourange the use of SSEPs for intraoperative monitoring even in patients with preoperatively altered waves.
