Abstrakt		To establish neurophysiological landmarks on the exposed dorsal spinal cord surface, spinal somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs) were recorded in 44 patients undergoing surgery for various spinal cord lesions. Using a miniature multielectrode the functional midline between left and right dorsal columns was identified in 36 patients, while this was not possible in 9 patients due to technical, anatomical or pathological factors. The method could be a potential surgical tool for myelotomy placement.
