Abstrakt | Eight persons with right temporal long lasting rhythmic discharges in night sleep had prolonged REM. REM comparison in epileptics with night generalized discharges (N=23), right (N=18) and left (N=14) active temporal focus in night sleep showed prolonged REM in a group with right temporal focus. Four epileptics undergone partial right temporal resection with right amigdalectomy had marked drop of REM sleep 0-3 years and 6-9 years after operation. It may indicate relative dominance of the right cerebral hemisphere in REM sleep and, in certain cases, facilitation of REM sleep by interictal discharges of right temporal origin. | |
