Abstrakt | 180 biopsies were evaluated histologically from 300 cadaveric kidney donors. We have observed sclerotic glomeruli, vascular insudates and interstitial fibrosis. The histological findings were divided into two groups: a control group C without/or with minimal histological changes, and a marginal group M with a higher incidence of sclerotic glomeruli (P<.0001), vascular insudates (P<.0001) and interstitial fibrosis (P<.0001). Following clinical data of donors were reviewed: age, sex, cause of brain death, arterial hypertension. Group M donors were older (P<.0001) and with a higher incidence of hypertension (P<.0001) than in the group C. The onset of graft-function was evaluated as immediate or delayed. The level of function was rated as the lowest value of S-creatinine after transplantation and at 6, 12, 18, 24, 36 months post transplant periods. The early graft-function did not differ when the two groups were compared. Renal graft recipients showed higher levels of S-creatinine with the histological changes corresponding to vascular insudates. The on eyear graft survival rates also did not differ between groups. The two-years and three-years graft survival rates were lower in the group M (P<.05) than in the group C. | |
