Abstract		This review paper deals with the wide area of pulmonary cytology, and presents the authors' many years' experience with cytology of specimens obtained during invasive pulmonary procedures. The value of cytology and the expected results of cytologic studies are presented. The authors emphasize the role of cytology in the diagnosis and clinical follow up of pulmonary, pleural and mediastinal diseases.
Summary		Avtorja v preglednem članku obravnavata široko področje pljučne citologije. Gre za prikaz dolgoletnih lastnih izkušenj z različnimi vrstami pregledanih citoloških vzorcev, odvzetih med invazivnimi pnevmološkimi posegi. Razloženi so vloga, vrednost in pričakovani rezultati pregledov citoloških vzorcev. Poudarjeno in ovrednoteno je mesto citologije v diagnostiki in spremljanju bolezni pljuč, plevre in mediastinuma.
