Abstract		Patients with neuromuscular diseases pose a difficult problem for a physician. The greatest difficulty lies in when to suspect that the child has such a disease. The clinical presentation depends upon what part of the motor unit is involved, the pathophysiological process, and the child's age. Muscle weakness is the most common presenting symptom. A family history, history of the disease, careful clinical examination and laboratory inves- tigations aid in confirming the diagnosis and in determining the best course of treatment for the patient and counselling for the family.
Summary		Bolniki z živćno-mišično boleznijo so pogosto težka preizkušnja za zdravnika, ki se sreča z njimi. Prva težava je že posumiti, kdaj gre pri otroku za tako obolenje. Klinićna slika je odvisna od m sta, na katerem je prizadeta motorična enota, patofiziološkega dogajanja in otrokove starosti. išična oslabelost je najpogosteje prvi simptom bolezni. Natančno diagnozo mišično-živčnega obolenja potrdimo z dobro družinsko anamnezo, podatki o poteku bolezni in lahoratorijskimi preiskavami. S tem lahko načrtujemo primerno zdravljenje bolnika in svetovanje družini.
