Abstrakt		Congenital toxoplasmosis in children follows acute infection of pregnant women with the parasite Toxoplasma gondii. The paper underlines the importance of treatment of the infected pregnant women. Described are the clinical signs and late sequel in children with congenital infection. Postnatal diagnostic procedures and treatment of such children are shown. Cases of children treated at the Department of Infectious Diseases in Ljubljana are illustrated by clinical and laboratory features. The need for consequent implementation of screening of pregnant women and appropriate treatment of children at risk is expressed.
