Abstrakt		Term contents definition of near-drowning and airway obstruction, epidemiology (among the causes for the children mortality due to injuries, drowning is on the second place and foreign bodies of respiratory tract present an important morbidity), prevention (on the base of his own cases the author calls attention to the most frequent circumstances for accidents of this kind), first aid (with the special emphasis on its organizational part) are presented by the author and indications when hospitalization is needed, enumerated.
Izvleček		Avtor predstavi vsebinsko opredelitev utopitve in zadušitve, epidemiologijo (med vzroki za smrtnost otrok zaradi nesreč je utopitev na drugem mestu, tujki v dihalih pa predstavljajo pomembno morbiditeto), preprečevanje (na podlagi lastne kazuistike opozori na najpogostejše okoliščine teh vrst nesreč), prvo pomoč (s posebnim poudarkom na njenem organizacijskem delu) in našteje medicinske indikacije, ko je potrebno otroka hospitalizirati.
