Abstrakt		It its treatment of stutterers the Institution for Deaf and Hard-of-hearing Persons in Ljubljana, Slovenia, has been using the method of conscious synthesis development for more than 20 years. The advantage of this method, developed by Dr. C. Brajović, is an all-round treatment suitable for persons of all ages. it enables the therapist to choose from a wide range of new and effective techniques, which is also the reason why our institution complemented the basic method with various other techniques called VLAJA, meaning an all-round speech therapeutic activation of stutterers in adaptation to their living environment, whereby the newly acquired speech is also applied. This approach enables the method to remain modern, useful and young.
