Abstrakt		The paper presents the exercise and health education program which has been developed though one-year efforts of the physiotherapist at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Department of the Maribor Teaching Hospital. The patients at the Gynecology Department - maily older women after surgery - are given illustrated exercise program instructions in order to achieve better muscle tone (pelvic - botoom muscles). The Oncology Department patients who have had a breast cancer surgery are given written instructions in order to prevent the formation of lymphedemata and to improve the flexibility of arm and shoulder. The hospitalization period for women in childbed is relatively short because of the great number of patients. Therefore they are given special detailed information - illustrated afterbirth exercise program. At the same delivery preparative courses for families have been the organized at the department since February 1996. The expectant mothers are pregnancy exercise program instructions.
