Abstract     Telemedicine in the pre-hospital setting is being considered by some EMS providers. Pre-hospital providers could transmit a brief history, EEG, EKG and video clip of the patient at the scene. This practice could enhance care provided at the scene under medical direction and allow better preparation to receive one or more patients in the ED. Such scene information could also be used for injury-prevention education. Currently several telemedical applications related to emergency medical services indicated the problem of collecting timely and precise information in the treatment of life endangered patients but also suggested the possible use of information and telecommunication technology in solving such problems. These technologies can include facsimile, medical data transmission, audio-only format (telephone and radio), still images, and full-motion video. Instead of transporting the patient to the site of the expert caregiver, expert knowledge is transported to the health care provider closest to the patient. The aim of our contribution is to present a prototype for data exchange over radio network. Our prototype has shown that using it we can simpy, promptly and exactIy transfer the information over long distances.
