| Abstrakt | It is now more than 15 years that percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) has been used as a means of enteral access. In that period of time it has made a dramatic impact in the field of nutrition and alimentation techniques. The purpose of this review is to summarise what has been learned from the application of this modality so far, what are the indications, contraindications, and possible complications, and how to handle them. Finally, various techniques and technologies will be discussed, with special emphasis on its use in paediatric patients. | |
