| Abstract | Injuries are the commonest cause of death in children after first year of life.The survival and the quality of life after severe trauma, GCS<8, is dependent on early and correct action of a team headed by a doctor on the spot as well as during transport to the hospital. For this reason, we have developed Prehospital Emergency Department since 1993 to offer expert basic and advanced life support on the spot of disastrous incident. Previously, injured children used to be quickly transported to hospital with often not enough expert supervision and help. We analysed the results of treatment in both periods. | |
