Abstract		Different diagnostic procedures used in the evaluation of the most important disease of the thoracic aorta are presented. Their advantages and shortcomings in the diagnosis of aortic dissection, blunt aortic trauma and aortic aneurysm are reviewed. If available, the values of sensitivity and specificy are given for different methods in specific diseases.
Summary		V prispevku so predstavljene različne slikovne diagnostične metode, njihove prednosti in slabosti pri pregledu torakalne aorte zaradi disekcije aorte, poškodbe aorte in prave anevrizme aorte. Predstavljene so občutljivost inspecifičnosti za navadni rentgenogram pljuč, artografijo, računalniško tomografijo, magnetno resonanco, transtorakalni in transesofagealni ultrazvok srca in aorte.
