Abstract     Among various liver diseases three clinicomorphological entities, such as primary biliary cirrhosis, primary sclerosing cholangitis and autoimmune hepatitis are suggested to have an immune origin. In the articte, diagnostic features of these diseases are presented comprising distinctive immunoserologic findings and specific pathohistological appearance upon which clinical differences and selected treatment depend. To confirm the clinical diagnosis, as well as to indicate the prognosis, liver biopsies of these peculiar tiver lesions shoutd be performed. Pathohistological diagnosis have been codified and regularly includes a semiquantitative scoring system.
