Abstrakt		A new computer-aided approach for the determination of kinetic constants is presented. The model is developed for a particular type of interaction of an enzyme with a competitive inhibitor. To the experimental product vs. time curve a mathematical function is fitted which contains parameters from which ka, kd and Ki can be calculated. The experimental model was tested far the interaction of human kidney cathepsin L with chicken egg white cystatin. The calculated kinetic constants were compared with published data on homologous low Mr cysteine proteinase inhibitors.
