Abstrakt		Hospitalized neonates and infants have more congenital abnormalities, immune deficiencies and severe underlying diseases than adult patients. Multiple risk factors are responsible for different nosocomial infection rates in children and adults, between different pediatric wards and between children of different ages. We discuss the role of different factors in pediatric nosocomial infections and preventive measures such as hand hygiene.
