Abstrakt		In Slovenia are about 700 suicides yearly. There is five to ten times more of those who attempt a suicide. Our first intention at work with suicidal patients is a survival. When patients existence is not directly menaced anymore, we have to try to make a patient trust us. The main thing is to listen. By that, we give the patient a chance to disburden himself and out of the content of his talking, we can persume, what is a possibility of another suicidal act. We must avoid any kind od judgement of value, because we do more harm than good by giving any. Convesations with suicidal person require a lot of patience. Nurses's reactions to patients are very different. Reaction could be a denying of seriousness of situation or feelings of fear, weakness, anger...We have to be sensitive, because it is the only way to recognize the seriousness of situation and to help. But we can not be responsible for patint's decision. This is also recommedable to keep our emotional stability.
