Abstract		Contamination of marine water with toxic TBT and other organotin compounds (TeBT, DBT, MBT, TPhT, MPhT, TPrT) was studied in the Bay of Piran. The highest concentration of TBT was found in the marine of Lucija and in the port of Piran (600 - 900 ng I-1) where lower concentration of DBT and MBT as degradation products (100 250 ng I-1) and TPhT and MPhT were also detected. The organotin levels on the open sea of the Bay of Piran were lower and revealed a similar concentration at all measuring points. Measurements of organotins were conducted by GC/MSD (SIM) method using Grignard derivatization.
