Abstrakt     We investigated the development of humoral and cell-mediated immune response after experimental infection of mice with Borrelia afzelii, Borrelia garinii in Borrelia burgdorferi sensu stric-to. The level of specific antibodies was determinated by ELISA and cell-mediated immunity observed by lymphocyte proliferation assay. The current study showed, that infected mice developed humoral and cell mediated immune response. In our experiments ELISA and lymphocyte proliferation assay showed high levels of accuracy in confirming borrelia infection in mice. We conclude, that described methods are sensitive and specific enough, to be of assistance in confirming diagnosis of Lyme disease in humans, particularly in cases with atypical clinical manifestations.
Izvleček     Proučevali smo nastanek protitelesnega in celičnega imunskega odziva pri miših, eksperintalno okuženih z bakterijami Borrelia afzeii, Borrelio garnii in Borrelio burgdorferi sensu stric-to. Raven specifičnih protiteles smo določali s testi ELISA, razvoj celične imunosti pa smo merili s tesom blastnega preoblikovanja limfocitov. Ugotovili smo, da se pri okuženih miših razvijeta protitelesni in celični imunski odziv. Oba testa sta se v naših poskusih izkazala za dovolj zanesljiva pri potrditvi okužbe z borelijo pri miših. S prikazom rezultatov naše raziskave želimo poudariti njihovo praktično uporabo ter občutljivost in specifičnost tudi za prepoznavanje lymske borelioze pri ljudeh, še zlasti v primerih, ko je klinična slika nejasna.
