Abstract | The work of Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is difficult or even impossible locations accessible with difficult and in other special circumstances. In such cases, the help of specialized Rescue services is needed. Mountenaire Rescue Service of Slovenia (MRSS) is an amateur organisation with 650 memebers in 17 operational units located in different Slovenian towns. MRSS performs rescue and emergency medical service in Slovenian mountains and other locations accessible with difficulty. Its work is divided into classical and helicopter rescuing, the latter having the priority. The specialized part of MRSS is a helicopter rescuing team which consists of special trained rescuers (40) and doctors (13). With a specially equipped helicopter, MRSS can intervene practicaly everywhere, with all medical equipment, the doctor and one or more rescuers on board. Helicopter rescuing performed by MRSS is still the only primary helicopter EMS in Slovenia. Cooperation between usual EMS and MRSS in Slovenia is not optimal, mostly because of - on the average-long activation time of MRSS group, and because members of EMS don't realize all the possibilities and benefits of cooperation with MRSS. With this summer's project of on duty helicopter rescue group at the helicopter base, MRSS will try to improve the quality of its work (shortening response time etc.), which will also give the chance for a better cooperation with the usual EMS. The article deals with the possibilities of a better cooperation between MRSS and usual EMS, especially at emergencies where helicopter transport would be the best solution.
Summary | Na težko dostopnih krajih in v drugih posebnih okoliščinah je delovanje Službe nujne medicinske pomoči (SNMP) oteženo ali celo onemogočeno. Zagotavlja reševanje in nujno medicinsko pomoč (NMP) v gorah in drugih težko dostopnih krajih. Gorsko reševanje delimo v klasično in letalski (helikoptersko).
