Abstract     Inflammatory diseases of the central nervous system are heterogeneous group of diseases, which may one get over without consequences, but may be fatal or leaving permanent disability. The severity of disease depends on infecting agent and on individual's immune response. We propose the thick borne meningoencephalitis as a model for discussion about sequellae of the central nervous system infections. Patients were followed for six weeks, six months, three years and ten year after disease and the sort and frequency of sequellae was defined. There is no causative treatment against late sequellae of the thick borne meningoencephalitis, but patients can be helped with symptomatic treatment and proper rehabilitation.
