| Abstract | The author presents rheumatic illnesses with inflamed joints, caused by the deposition of crystals. The clinical picture, basic epidemiological data and principles of treating gout, pseudo-gout, hydroxyapatite arthropathy and joint inflammation caused by steroids are given.
