Abstrakt		Every spring after warming and heavy rains amphibian spawning begins--when part our roads become killing fields. Frogs, salamanders, and other amphibians must cross roads to reach their spawning grounds and thus become the victims of cars to such an extent that some are already threatened. Planners of new roads are aware of the ecologists demands and agree with the principle of safe animal crossings, but they certainly need the help and support of the general public.
