Abstract     Items of information created and needed by healthcare fields are numerous and various. A special place is held by professional healthcare information, which in the last few years is mostly directed at the users of healthcare services. Information can be found in published materials and in computer-related sources. A characteristic of the present age is an exceptional growth in the amount of available information. Therefore, computer sources, especially bibliographic databases, play an increasingly important role in searching for appropriate information. The Internet (the world web) can offer a quick access to useful information in the field of physical medicine and medical rehabilitation. With the explosion of medical and healthcare-related information freely, available on the Internet, with over 20,000 healthcare home pages, physical therapists need to be able to find and use the latest and appropriate literature and direct theirpatižnts to reliable sources, since too many items of information may cause more harm than benefit. A prerequisite for successful professional work is high-quality, reliable and current information.
