Abstract     Recurrence of spontaneous circulation is the first goal of resuscitation. If ventricular fibrillation or tachycardia is the cause of cardiac arrest, collapse to shock interval is the key chain for patients survival. Shock delivery within 5 minutes in the community settings and within 3 minutes for in hospital resuscitation is the main goal of European resuscitation council recommendations. It could be achieved with the implementation of automated external defibrillators in the hands of first responders, trained laypersons in the community and medical nurses and technicians in hospitals.
