Abstract     Foreign bodies in the gastrointestinal tract are rare causes of sudden chest pain. Case report. Presented is the case of a 63-year-old male patient who had swallowed a chicken bone and consequently developed acute chest pain. During interventional endoscopic investigation the 35x25 mm bone which had become lodged in the esophagus was removed. Foreign bodies in the upper digestive tract are rarely the cause of emergency situations in gastroenterology.
