Abstract		Injuries occur throughout our lives. lncreasing speed of life, availability of vehicles, low culture of driving, increasing violence and alcochol abuse are the main reasons. Injuries occur everywhere: at home, work, during sport activitis; play, in traffic... Many injuries can be treated with small surgery. There are over 18000 such procedures in local or regional digital nerve block anesthesia at our department each year. Careful preparation of the patient for the surgical procedure is important as the surgery brings physical, psychical and social stress.
