Abstract     This article presents how to obtain an intravenous and intraosseus access in pre-hospital settings. During pre-hospital assessment of patient fluids and drug administration is frequently required. Access via the peripheral veins is commonly used in pre-hospital settings. We use alternative routs to administer drugs and fluids when intravenous access can not be obtained. Intraosseus route is safe and efficient for the administration of drugs and fluids during resuscitation of children under six years. The intraosseus route is also acceptable alternative way for drug administration in older children and adults in case of intravenous access failure.
