Abstract		In this paper, the author tries to present the issue of assessment of bodoly injuries, and particularly injuries to the neck part of the spine which often occur in road accidents. He presents data from literature and experience from our neighbouring and other countries, which show the extent of possible injuries to the neck part of the spine. He particularly points out the issue in the Republic of Slovenia where he unfortunately could not obtain the relevant data regarding the number of people with such injuries or, in particular, the final data on the injured people treated.
