Abstrakt | The pollen measurement has been performed on two locations in Slovenia: in the central part of the state in Ljubljana and at the North Mediterranean coast in Koper. In May the diversity of airborne pollen was grate, we registered 37 pollentypes on both locations. Alergologicaly important were the pollentypes as follows: Maple (Acer); Horse chestnut (Aesculus), Alder (Alnus viridis), Birch (Betula), Hornbeam and Hophornbeam (Carpinus, Ostrya), Beech (Fagus), Ash (Fraxinus), Wallnut family (Juglandaceae), Privet (Ligustrum), Plantain (Plantago), Oak (Quercus), Sorrel (Rumex), Elder (Sambucus), Plane tree (Platanus), and the most important Grass pollen, in Koper also olive (Olea) and Pelitory (Parietaria) pollen. The Grass pollen season has continued in May. In Ljubljana in the greater part of the month the pollen counts were bellow the 100grains/m3 except in the last eight days of the month when the pollen concentration was high. The concentration in Koper was lower in comparison with Ljubljana measurements, the concentration was almost in the whole month below 50 grains/m3. The main allergen source of the Northern Hemisphere in spring are pollen grains of the Fagales order. The season of Birch, Beech, Oak, Hornbeam and Hophornbeam pollen fade out an May. Birch pollen was present only in Ljubljana for the first few days at the beginning of the month, Beech, Hornbeam, Hophornbeam and Oak pollen was in the air only fir the two first decades. The Green Alder was blooming in mountains at the forest border. Low concentration of pollen grains were registered on both locations in the last 4 days of May. The pollen grains from the Olive family also are alergologicaly important. Ash and Privet pollen grains were airborne on both locations, Olive pollen only in Mediterranean area. The Olive pollen season started in the middle of the month. | |
