Abstrakt		A combination of different antibiotic drugs is sometimes essential for the successful pharmacological treatment of infectious diseases. Chronically ill patients, who develop bacterial infections, need simultaneous treatment with antibiotic drugs in addition to their established pharmacotherapy. Drug interaction is a modification of one drug action by concomitant administration of another drug, food or alcohol. Drug interactions could be of pharmacodynamic or pharmacokinetic origin, could be clinically desirable or manifested as adverse drug reactions or unsuccessful pharmacological treatment.
Izvleček		Pri zdravljenju infekcijskih bolezni je včasih pomembna uporaba več antibiotikov, kronični bolniki, ki zbolijo z infekcijsko boleznijo, pa poleg antibiotičnega zdravljenja prejemajo zdravila za zdravljenje osnovne bolezni. Interakcija med zdravili je pojav, ko zdravilo, hrana ali alkohol bistveno vpliva na usodo drugega zdravila. Lahko so farmakodinamične ali farmakokinetične. Nekatere interakcije med zdravili so želene, druge so neželene in se izražajo kot stranski učinki zdravil ali kof neuspešno zdravljenje
