Abstrakt		This article presents the story of "Salonit Anhovo" - an asbestos-cement factory in Slovenia that led to the banning of asbestos in Slovenia in 1996. Two different perspectives are presented: (i) the story of the company management which realized the risks of using asbetos and proposed its ban in SLovenia; and (ii) the story of the local NGS that first discovered the dangers of asbestos and began a long struggle to protect workers, community and the environment.
