| Abstrakt | Lake Cerknica is a karst lake lying in a basin surrounded by hills. The region of the lake is a juncture of similar climatic and geographical influences, the result of which is an ecosystem unique in Slovenia as well as in the world. It is situated i the heart of inner carniola, in the part where the hillsides of the northwestern Dinaric mountains come near the Alps. This is also where even the last influences of the Mediterranean climate end. According to its geographical and phytogeographycal division it is classified into the Dinaric region. | |
