Abstrakt     Porcelain fused to metal constructions may fracture in the oral cavity. The defects can be repaired using porcelain repair systems. The purpose of our study was to evaluate the effect of surface treatment of low fusing porcelain on the shear bond strength of two porcelain repair systems. Four different surface treatments were applied: grinding, sandblasting, etching with hydrofluoric acid and grinding plus sandblasting. Samples were embedded in cold cured acrylic resin and two repair systems were applied: Monobond S and Clearfil. Silicone tubes were used to adapt and cure composite resin. Shear bond strength was determined. Sandblasting and etching improved bond strength to porcelain. Strength between 20 and 30 MPa was achieved with the two repair systems used on appropriately treated porcelain surface. This is in agreement with the results obtained on feldspatic porcelain. We may conclude that the tested repair systems are suitable for fractures in low fusing porcelain.
