Abstract		The medical staffs personal attitude to life, illness, handicap, old age and death is often of decisive importance also for professional decisions. If we want to improve the quality of life up to the last moment thereof, much work for the detabooing of death in all strata of the population has to be done. Even the most modern medicine will not bring the desired results if we do not acceept life as a whole, death included.
