Abstract		The article presents us self-image and professional identity. Self-image and self-image growth are presented with seven perceptions of identity. Social self-image and professional image are described. The article presents some results of survey: Nurses in Slovenia. The questions of self-respect, professional identity, praises, motivation and worth are shown. The author finds out that a positive self-respect and a good professional profile are very important. It is a great demands to change our professional identity and to raise up the reputation of nursing.
