Abstract     This paper reports the results of the research "Nurses in Slovenia" regarding nurses' health condition, health habits and attitudes towards health care service. The purpose of the research was explaining the connection between health and nurses. The author proposed four research questions: what is nurses' health condition, what is their health related behaviour, how do they evaluate health care service and if they are differ from population of Slovenia as a professional group. In the introduction she explains conceptions of health as a right, value, state and quality of life indicator in social science, health related behaviour towards health risk factors and towards prevention of disease. Attitudes of nurses regarding health services are discussed. The research strategy was cross-section study. A descriptive research method was used. Data were collected by questionnaire "Nurses in Slovenia" on the representative sample of Slovenian nurses, members of the Slovenian Nurse Organizations. Data were analysed quantitativily with basic statistic methods. Gender, age and education were used as indipendent variables. The results revealed that nurses have some health problems, but hold mostly positive view of health, mostly feel happy and they differ from general population in avoiding health risk factors, and evaluate health care services in a different way.
