Abstract     The article deals with physical activity of women. It determines the specifities of the profession of nurses regarding their recreation. The aim of the study is to find out how many nurses practice physical activity and to present the positive influence of that activity on the quality of life. In the empirical part the results are shown indicating that in spite of the demanding working time, their families and children, the nurses practice physical activity in their spare time. The prevailing physical activity such as walking, trips and cycling show that nurses practice the activity where family members can be also included.
