Abstract		Authors wants to outline a role of a nurse in Emergency Surgical Unit by acceptance and maintenance of children. ln relation with that they first present theoretical starting-points for nurse's work - 14 life activities of Virginia Hendeson and theory of Dorothy Orem. In continuation they describe, how the nurse accept a child, how she prepares him for the medical examination and what is her role in diagnostic-therapeutic procedures. In the end they give us informations about that, where to and how are children discharged after the maintenance in Emergency Surgical Unit.
