Abstract     Pediatric immobilization in the prehospital setting is a very difficulty task for EMS provider. Together with emotional problems during pediatric rescue we are also encountering difficulties with splinting devices which are made for adult use. For extremities splinting we can use regular splints like Krammer splints and vakuum splints. There is a different situation when we would like to immobilize entire body of a child with regular splinting devices for full body immobilization like: scoop stretcher, vakuum mattress, spine board etc. The common problems are with proper fixation ofentire body on splinting device. On the other hand the child can literally disappear in the splinting device. On behalf of that reasons it is strongly recommended that rescuers in the prehospital settings are using special devices for extremity and full body immobilization of children.
