Abstract		Background. The purpose of this analysis was to receive data about patients being operated for pancreatic and other periampullar cancers, specially data about morbidity and mortalily. Patients and methods. In the period from 1st January 1995 till 31st December 1999, we operated 284 patients for pancreatic or some other kinds of periampullar carcinoma. Important clinical, intraoperative and postoperative data were analysed. Results. Only exploration was done in 43 (15,1%) cases, palliative by-pass procedure in 135 (47,5%) cases and iumor was resected in 106 (37,3%) cases. Postoperative morbidity was 27,1% and mortality 13,4%. Conclusion. Results after operations for pancreatic or periampullar cancers are comparable to results in the literature, with important exception: mortality after resection in our analysis was 12, 3%.
