Abstract     Possible inclusion of complementary and alternative methods in health care are challenges to health providers who, at this moment can't express what official statement should they have about these treatments. To wider understanding a historical background of medical and nursing care development is included in the article initially. The core topic presents nurses' general attitudes towards complementary allternative methods. In a survey the author made among 40 nurses the extent of agreement with statements originated from literature data and current situation in Slovenia was discovered. Results prove positive attitudes towards methods mentioned. Nurses also determine knowledge deficit about this field of treatment to better fulfi'l patients' interests.
