Abstract		The composite materials were prepared by frontal polymerisation of triethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TGDMA) and acrylamide, embedding zinc powder in the presence of 2,2`-azoisobutyronitrile (AIBN). A horizontal temperature profile was seen beside the axial temperature gradient. A melt zone was observed in front of the polymerisation front. Lots of photographs were taken with scanning electron microscope and with optical microscope to detennine the size distribution of the zinc particles. A computerised algorithm was worked out for calculating the zinc particle distribution. The characterisation of particle arrangement was performed by using the radial distribution function (RDF).
