Abstract     Composites consist of matrix material and reinforcing phase, these are microscopically combined materials. Basically composites can be characterized by the properties of the matrix material. The microstructural and mechanical properties of the composites depend on the quality of the reinforcement and the matrix, the quantity, distribution and morphology of the reinforcing phase, and characteristics of the surface boundary between the two phases (wettability, chemical reactions, forming crystal phases). The aim of image analysis was to identify different crystal phases through morphology of the surface boundary of C/Al.
