Abstract     To determine if initial stuttering severity (ISS) has an effect on therapy completion rates 200 client records were examined. The stuttering therapy employed was Svjesna sinteza razvoja (3J, which typicallylasts between one and two years. If ISS is a predictor of when clients leave therapy then the mean ISS scores should differat the five points at which clients leave therapy. It was found that the mean ISS scores were remarkably similar, indicating that the initial severity of stuttering is not an indicator of therapy completion.
