Abstract     Participants of the workshop will come to learn of some important facts and discoveries made by Maria Montessori. This will make it possible for them to understand her pedagogic method. The presentation will focus on materials as well as exercises stimulating the development of tactile, fine-motoric and grapho-motoric skills which play a role in the distinguishing as well as the automation of difficult letters. These devices are developmentally oriented, with the level of difficulty isolated; they enable self-study, exploring and self-control. Children with dyslexia and dysgraphia tend to interpret certain symbols more slowly and with greater difficulty. They tend to turn them vertically and horizontally, they have bigger difficulty recognising, remembering and recollecting them. Exercises apply the multisensoric method of learning; they are marked by a high motivational value and allow a child to derive pleasure from them, which is especially important in the corrective type of work A child is, consequently, ready to make a bigger effort in order to achieve a goal, which he has, in the meanwhile, already internalized.
