Abstrakt		There are only about thirly cases of pulmonary malakoplakia reported in the world literature. Two immune compromised patients with this rare disease, characterized by proliferation and accumulation of macrophages with typical Michaelis-Gutmann bodies are presented. In 59-year old female, alcoholism and diabetes mellitus were the predisposing factors for development of solitary pulmonary lesion. Malakoplakia has been diagnosed by transbronchial biopsy. The second patient, the 31-year old man was treated for AIDS and died from multiple opportunistic infections. Besides pneumonic lesions, the autopsy revealed multiple lung nodular changes with characteristic features of malakoplakia.
