Abstrakt		Knowledge of biliary anatomy is one of the important factors for safe surgery. Embryological evolution determines anatomical location, course and varieties of biliary structures. Topographical site ofgallbladderdepends on the development and the size of segment 4. Vascular structures and cystic duct as well as varieties are described in the article. Extrahepatic bile ducts are described considering their course, location and also arterial supply and venous drainage. Important varieties in the site and junction of bile ducts are presented. Other structures in hepatoduodenal ligament and their relationship to biliary system are also described. The surgeons are usually well acquainted with normal biliary anatomy, however it is important also to know the important varieties which could represent serious problem when combined with inflammatory changes and following previous operative procedures.
