Abstrakt | Alien species are species that were intentionaly or unintentionaly introduced into ecosystems outside their naturale distribution range. Alien invasive species are species that cause ecologic and economic damage in new environmet, or threaten human health. There are many ways for spread of alien species, but most of them are caused by humans. Uncontroled introduction of alien species is now recognized as one of the major threats to native fauna and flora. Rough estimation showes that there are around 1000 diferent alien plant and animal species in Slovenia, but those data are definitely underestimated. Consequences of introductions of alien species into Slovenija have never been studied, hardly any data are available, and there is no systematic approache to this problem. | |
